What fits on a square card?

Less than you'd think: there's about a third less room than on a standard 85 × 55mm card. Keep the front to your logo and one way to get in touch, and put everything else on the back.

Can I use them as thank-you cards in parcels?

Yes, and they work brilliantly for it. A small square sits neatly on top of an order with a short thank-you or a discount code on the back. With a minimum of just 50, it's easy to start small.

Which card should I choose?

350gsm silk is the all-rounder and takes lamination well. Recycled has a natural uncoated feel and is easy to write on. Magnetic cards stick to fridges and filing cabinets, which suits takeaways, taxis and trades. Triplex is the thickest and most luxurious.

What is a coloured core?

Our 810gsm triplex card is three layers bonded together, with a coloured layer in the middle. The colour shows as a thin stripe around every edge. Choose from 11 colours, or white for a solid, extra-thick card with no stripe.

Square or standard size?

Square cards stand out, but they don't line up with standard cards in a card holder or desk file. If the people you meet tend to file cards, or you need room for several contact details, a standard 85 × 55mm card is the safer choice.

Will you check my artwork?

Yes. File Check is free and selected by default: our prepress team check size, resolution, bleed and more, and contact you if anything needs fixing. If you'd rather we fixed the problems for you, choose File Assist. We'll resize, add bleed, fix fonts and correct the layout for a flat fee. Nothing goes to print until the artwork is right.

Can I send my artwork later?

Yes. Place your order and email your artwork over when it's ready. Production starts once we have it.

How long will my cards take?

01Start from our template above: it shows the trim, bleed and safe area.
02Supply a PDF with fonts embedded or converted to outlines.
03Set your document up in CMYK colour, not RGB.
04Make your artwork 61 × 61mm: the 55 × 55mm card plus 3mm bleed on every edge.
05Keep text and logos at least 3mm inside the trim line, or 5mm if your design has a border.
