What does 2, 3 or 4 part mean?

It's how many sheets are in each set. A 2 part set gives you an original and one copy, 3 part gives two copies, and 4 part gives three. A pad of 50 sets in 2 part has 100 sheets.

What's the difference between a pad, a book and loose sets?

A pad is 50 sets glued along the top with a card back, and you tear off each complete set. A book is stitched with a cover so the bottom copy stays in it as your record. Loose sets come as individual glued sets for clipboards and wallets.

How do the copy colours work?

The top sheet is always white. You pick the colour of each copy under it, so you can tell at a glance which copy is the customer's, the office's and the file copy. Only the copies in your set are shown: a 2 part pad has just a bottom copy.

Which pen works best?

A ballpoint, pressed firmly. Gel pens, felt tips and fountain pens don't press hard enough to come through clearly, especially on 3 and 4 part pads.

Will the 4th copy be readable?

Yes, with a ballpoint and firm pressure. Each copy is a little lighter than the one above, so the bottom copy is the faintest. If you write lightly, 2 or 3 part is a safer choice.

Do I need full colour?

Black only is the most popular and the cheapest, and it works well for forms. Choose a full colour face if you want your logo in brand colours.

Can I print on the back?

Only on the top copy. Use 70% black for text on the back so it doesn't show through. The copy sheets are printed on the front only.

Can you drill them for a ring binder?

Yes. Choose 2 or 4 holes and we'll drill them on the left edge in the standard ring binder position. Keep your design 20mm clear of that edge.

Do NCR pads need bleed?

No. Keep everything, including background colour, at least 5mm inside the edge. Designs that run to the edge can't be printed on carbonless paper.

How many pads do I need?

Work it out from how many forms you use. Each pad has 50 sets, so if you write about 100 a month, 12 pads will last around six months.

Are they the same as carbon copy pads?

They do the same job. The paper has its own coating that makes the copy, so there's no messy carbon sheet to deal with.

How should I store them?

Flat, somewhere cool and dry, out of direct sunlight. Don't stack heavy things on them or leave them in a hot car, as pressure and heat can mark the copies.

Will you check my artwork?

Yes. File Check is free and selected by default: our prepress team check size, resolution and more, and contact you if anything needs fixing. If you'd rather we fixed the problems for you, choose File Assist. We'll resize, fix fonts and correct the layout for a flat fee. Nothing goes to print until the artwork is right.

How long will my order take?

Choose Saver, Standard or Express in the price table. The estimated delivery date for each speed is shown at the top of its column and updates for the quantity you pick. Delivery to the UK mainland is included.

NCR pad printing, priced in seconds.

NCR (no carbon required) pads make instant copies without carbon paper. Write on the top sheet and your words appear on the sheets below, so you and your customer both keep a copy. They're ideal for invoices, receipts, delivery notes, quotes, job sheets and order forms, and make a handy paper backup to digital invoicing.

Each pad holds 50 sets, glued along the top edge with a card backing, so you tear off a complete set and the rest stays together. Choose 2, 3 or 4 part sets in A6, DL, A5 or A4, pick the colour of each copy, print in black or full colour, and add 2 or 4 holes for filing. The price updates as you go, with free UK mainland delivery.
